- Objective of the scheme:
- The scheme was launched in March, 2009 with the objective to enhance access to secondary education and to improve its quality.
- The other objectives include removing gender, socio-economic and disability barriers, providing universal access to secondary level education by 2017(end of 12th five year plan).
- It was envisaged to achieve an enrolment rate of 75% from 52.26% in 2005-06 at secondary stage of implementation of the scheme by providing a secondary school within a reasonable distance of any habitation.
Initiatives take under RMSA
It is a web portal developed by the National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA) to enable schools to evaluate their performance in 7 key domains under the prescribed framework.
A single point repository of e resources containing NCERT textbooks and various other learning resources has been developed for showcasing and disseminating all educational resources including textbooks, audio, video, periodicals, and a variety of other print and non-print materials.
It is an e-Governance platform that covers all the KendriyaVidyalayas, to improve quality of learning, efficiency of school administration, governance of schools & service delivery.
It was launched in 2015 to promote arts in education, by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students in the country.
It is an initiative by HRD in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Home Affairs for the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya and NavodayaVidyalayas to provide an opportunity for the children to experience the border environment and to foster patriotism among the students.
