Union Public Service Commission has released the final cut off marks for UPSC Civil Services Examination, 2019. The cut off marks for CSE 2019 includes the final cut off score of selected candidates for UPSC CSE 2019.

Note:

  • Cut off marks are declared on the basis of GS Paper-I only. 
  • GS Paper-II was of qualifying nature with 33% marks as per Rule-15 of Civil Services Examination, 2019.
  • Marks obtained in Mains are subject to 10% marks in each of the seven competitive papers i.e. Essay, GS-I, GS-II, GS-III, GS-IV, Optional-I and Optional-II. 
  • PwBD is Person with Benchmark Disability. A person with disability would be considered to have benchmark disability if she has at least 40% disability as per the certificate issued by a government authority.

The cut-off for GS Paper-I (out of 200 marks) over previous years' for all categories:

  • General category: (2018- 98 marks), (2017- 105.34 marks), (2016- 116 marks) and (2015- 107.34 marks).
  • OBC: (2018- 96.66 marks), (2017-102.66 marks), (2016- 110.66 marks) and (2015- 106 marks).
  • SC: (2018- 84 marks), (2017- 88.66 marks), (2016- 99.34 marks) and (2015- 94 marks).
  • ST: (2018-83.34 marks), (2017- 88.66 marks), (2016- 96 marks) and (2015- 91.34 marks).
  • PwBD-1: (2018- 73.34 marks), (2017- 85.34 marks), (2016- 75.34 marks) and (2015- 90.66 marks)
  • PwBD-2: (2018- 53.34 marks), (2017- 61.34 marks), (2016- 72.66 marks) and (2015- 74.66 marks).
  • PwBD-3: (2018- 40 marks), (2017- 40 marks), (2016- 40 marks) and (2015- 40 marks).

UPSC CSE-2019: Category Wise Appointment Breakup

A total of 829 candidates from various categories have been recommended for the appointment in the Civil Services. The break-up of the total number of successful against each category is given below:

While UPSC shortlisted 829 candidates, the number of vacancies flagged by the government, which the UPSC itself notified, stood at 927, according to its own official list. In fact, each year, UPSC selects fewer candidates than the positions it notifies. Along with the first list that the commission declares, it maintains a ‘reserve’ list — a waiting list of sorts — of candidates.This year the number of waitlisted candidates is 182.
